Kyrgyzstan: The World's Newest Hotspot

Yet another news story overshadowed by the Terri Schiavo drama was this week's apparent democratic revolution in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan. If you've never heard of this country, you can be forgiven. It's a former Soviet republic in Central Asia that borders on China. The blogs Registan.net and Thinking-east.net are blogging the Kyrgyzstan uprising. Meanwhile, the Russian news service Interfax reports on another disturbance in another former Soviet republic, in Belarus in the city of Minsk.
